I just picked this up at a gamespot.
you can get a demo version at www.shipsim.com (http://www.shipsim.com/)
no weapons - its about HANDLING.
You drive water taxi's power boats cargo ships, and the Titanic ...

Lower New york harbor is incredibly well rendered. Looking north from south st seaport once easily identifies the brooklyn, manhattan, and williamsburg bridges.

Cant say ive actually gone to sea yet ( im dl-ing a 200 mb update ! )
but from the mission start screens the graphics look dam good.

hopefully it will be entertaining.

this game seems to be an off shoot of actual training software.
they have a number of professional applications including fire control trainers ,disaster management , first response, as well as a virtual driving instruction.

This game looks great! I watched the trailer and it seemed the taxi boat had an endless supply of gas. It should give Virtual Sailor a run for it's money. Modding will have to be a must though for this to be a truely awesome sim!

I tried to look for this also.

Here is something from their forum regarding other ships...

"We plan on keeping it a friendly, non-war-vessel game.

Because as soon as you add submarines or warships, people want to shoot stuff, which is not exactly what we want with the Ship Simulator.

Thanks."

You're right. Its just a in harbor game. I could live with that plus no wave action if the boats could just have the ability to take damage and sink. As it is your boat is a cork.

Just harbors? That sure doesn't leave much room for the really large ships to play. This game looks really cool, especially seeing Titanic there, but what good is it if you can only splash around the harbor? :-?

@Syxx_Killer: Good point. The missions are pretty simple. Like one was that you started from one end of the harbor and your mission was to dock the ship to one of the piers assigned.
