The best bowl of Clam Chowder I ever ate was at the Old Fisherman's Grotto in Monterey California. Right down by fisherman's wharf.

Anybody else have anything better?

It's hard to say, as we need to put all dishes side by side, and eat them at the same temperature and so on. :D

Barnacles Restaurant in Ormond Beach Florida as awesome chowder, and one of the best baked Grouper fish I ever tasted. Even if they were not specialized in preparing Alligator, it also tasted better than what I tasted so far elsewhere. :|\\

You're right. Hard to compare if you never tried it. :oops: Let me rephrase the question.

Anybody else have any good recommendations for getting a great bowl of Clam Chowder?

although i havent tasted it meself,

I heard that Gator's Dockside, in Oviedo Mall, Orlando, has some good Clam Soupy-stuff
