A knifeman has been arrested after scaling a 6ft fence into the secure area outside the prime minister's residence in Downing Street.
Tony Blair was at home when the intruder was spotted at the back of Number 10 on Sunday night, but police said he was not "at risk".
A police officer challenged the man who was arrested after a brief struggle, when a large kitchen knife was found.
A man is being held on suspicion of affray and assaulting a police officer. Scotland Yard confirmed Tony Blair was at Number 10 at the time but said: "We are satisfied that at no time was the prime minister at risk."
