I just buyed CS:S (My first CS game. Well, I've played CS:CZ offline a bit in the past, but i sold my copy cause i had no Internet back then and singleplayer sucked) and i've heard lots of people moaning how bad CS:S would be and that only CS 1.6 would be the true CS and so on, so i would like to ask: Wich do YOU think is better?

I thought CS:S would be the newer version and thus this would be the future, or am i wrong?

As soon as i have it running (Damn Update) a barrage of n00b questions will come. ;)

And, is a download speed of 50-70 Enought to play succesfully? (Should have asked that before i bought the thing...HAHAHA!!)

I have no idea, but "1.6" is a better label than "S".

I played CS the first time when it was beta 5 , looooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago. Now, I can just say that I hate the game. :p

I cant get it, how it can be more popular than for example Battlefield series. Grenades that damage you from behind a wall, super accurate 1shot-1kill sniper rifle (no matter if you run, you can still aim down the scope and hit accurately). :nope:

And for your questions: CS:Source is the new one, using Halflife 2´s game engine. 1.6 is the one using the halflife´s engine.

Thats sure bcuz your played Beta 5. Of course it had this bugs. I'm sure CS 1.6 or CS:S doesn't have this bugs anymore. :p

I think i have to get CS 1.6 too, since many still play it, not to forget the "Progamer" scene and the Lan things were you play for money...i have to make it this far. :p

I use to play the CS Condition Zero multiplayer which i think was an updated version of 1.6 - Condition Zero had a single player Campaign as well which was pretty suckful - your finish it in 5 - 6 hrs, and it had a single player skirmish missions with the bots which was better than the campaign and warmed you up before you go online. But the multiplayer code is good and still is used by many today - i wish i never sold the game as i still have an urge to play a fast action shooter thats blardy addictive as HELL! :arrgh!:. But if ya want the better graphics and latest updates go with CS2 SOURCE.

Sounds like i really have to get both versions...:hmm:

CS 1.6 can't be forever...but CS:S in new and still "in developement" jet...better get CS 1.6 and play it till it's finally dead and everyone Plays CS:S.

What i wonder: everyone bashes CS but still it's in the hit charts of online games...maybe it's just that subsimmers usually don't like that game, or what?...:hmm:

Counterstrike IMO is for the pros - their are some elite shooters that have probably been playing CS since day one some of em are that good they could play by themselfs and take on a whole team and still win. And im talking about servers without the aim bots hacks etc..,

My friend is one of those. He started playing CS three years ago and it is the only game he plays. 6-12 hours a day. He even bought Half life 2 just to get CS:S, never touched the Half life 2´s singleplay. :rotfl:

If they´d only change the AWM/P sniper to cost 10000 million or make it less accurate, I would go back to CS. IMO, it´s the most unfair weapon of the history of games. Never used it, only scout. :up:

Use to play BF2 at my sons place now and then and he would have to drag me off the computer :rotfl:Do you belong to a BF clan or are you just a one man army like i was. I joined a clan once and I lasted maybe two weeks as we had bad leadership we would go in and do our own thing :rotfl:Their was no co-ordination we would be scattered all over the map it was a totally waste of time.:lol:

Agreed. Just played a bit and those AWP'ers are a pain in the...you are aware what. ;)

I do think a Strong AWP is a Essential part of CS, but it is way to riduculusly good currently. :down:

But i think we have a chance to see this fixed in a future update. :up:

Never got a chance to use AWP, i think i'm gonna try it, just to see. But after that, only Scout. Or those other Sniper gunz. :up:

I love CS:S. Red Ochestra is a better game, but CS:S is a winner if you want hard action non-stop.

PS: I love games that doesn`t have respawn. Be careful, thats the thing.

Okay, i just got CS 1.6 and it's really cool. It owns Source. And way more people play it. :up:

I think i stick to it until either they shout it down or people get a better PC and switch to Source . Wich we all will have to do, because before we leave Counterstrike, we rather all play source. At least this is the opinion i got from the German forum.

And one of the reasons for me to Play 1.6 is that my PC can run it fine at 1024&768, wich it can't do on source. But in march i get a real 1337 PC, then i start to play Source and 1.6.

Nope, I´m not in a clan. I dont have a headset with mic, which is usually requirement for clans. I´m training my chopper skills atm, seen some crazy flying by some folks, like =F13=GameDr (something like that) and I wanna be just like him! :rotfl:

I´m downloading the BF2142 via EAdownloader, played the demo and was quite pleased with it. I will continue to play BF2 as I like the sunny tropical maps it has. I think I´ll love the retail BF2142, in the demo I was thrilled when I flew few minutes with the transport chopper, now it actually have some use. In BF2 you got shot down faster than you could say 'poo'. The teamwork was good in the demo, but when the ranks & medals come, it´ll change for sure. :nope:

Another new thing I like is the dog-tags (when you stab someone, you´ll get his dog-tags).

Still, a long wait. 7½ hours and the downloader is over-stressed as the release date is today in Europe.

@TheNoob: I dont like the semi-auto rifles anymore, they came too accurate. Now, they are almost more deadly than the AWP. :rotfl:
