Type XXI CTD

Im having an issue any time I try to use the Type XXI sub. No matter if I try to use the sub in career or a single mission the game will CTD while loading the mission. Im not using any major mods other than the Real Harbor mod. All other subs seem to be fine so Im at a loss. Anybody have an idea why this is happening?

Nobody? Is there anybody that has a working XXI sub in game that would send me all the files for it?

:hmm: Mmm...smells like an corrupt file or an file missing.
I havent tried the XXI yet after I formated my PC and installed an fresh SH3+GW
maybe you should install an dual install and try the Stock Sh3 if the XXI works there.

I have a back up SH3 + 1.4 patch on my external HD, but I already tried to replace just that sub's folder and had no luck.

:hmm: And if you copy that Back up SH3 of yours onto ur hard drive somewhere else and run the game? does it work then?

I am having XXI problems too, but not ctd. It goes maximum 9 knots on flank speed on the surface, and 3 knots submerged.

Oh, and it manouvers like a drunken whale, so you are not missing out, Seawolf IV.

Let me guess, you are either running NYGM or some sort of crew mod. I regualy use the Type XXI as my prefered sub. Never had any issues with it, but I dont use any crew mods and I dont use NYGM. Now 1 of the annoying quirks of the Type XXI is that in Stock SH3 it always has gives you 2 msg at mission start. 1 - Busted Sonar. 2 - Busted Radar.
Now if you used my lil fix, these are no more, but if not and you have a moded sensor files, its been reported that it can cause a CTD.

The fix is a simple Basic.cfg edit. Find all years of the Type XXI and replace all the last few line enteries of each year with the lines below:

Now all you must remember is to NOT upgrade the sub when you select it and all is fine.

Well I tried all the fixes you listed as well as replacing the entire XXI folder with a backup one. I even replaced on the Sensor files with backups and nothing seems to solve the problem. Everytime I load a singleplayer mission or career I CTD with that sub.
