where to hit

im looking for info on where to hit ships in order to cause maximum damage as although the gw 1.1a is superb im having to use 3 or 4 torps in order to sink merchants now and was looking for tips on sweet spots to fire at in the hope of saving a few torps

Try to hit either in the boiler room or in the fuel compartment.

If you aim for the spot directly below the smoke funnel, you should do well. This is basically a no-nonsense, easy to find sweetspot. You put a hole in the side of the ship, and pretty much make scrap metal of the boiler(s). :arrgh!:
