SeaWolf love the look you have got going there, but what do you guys mean when you talk about anti-aliasing? How do you go about uping anti-aliasing?
Am very intrested in getting my screenshots to look better.

Just go to your video card options and you should have an option to turn up anti-aliasing. Most cards by default have it turned off or set very low.

The easiest way to do it is to right click on the decktop. Then click on Properties and then Settings. You should see an Advanced button there that takes you to your card settings. If you have problems I would check your card's website.

That depends on your computer. Just start cranking the AA up at different levels and see what works best for you.

If turn this up will it affect frame rates? Given how demanding SH3 is as a game turning AA up could definately produce Frame drops. If SH3 runs smoothly for you by itself then you're fine to try and make slight adjustments like Seawolf said. However if it is already somewhat laggy and pushes the computer to its limits as it is AA could make it unplayable, especially around convoys.

Experimentation is the key.

Oh and an update. I changed my desktop. I even adjusted the borders so that they're even with the windows taskbar at the bottom.

I'm another major RB3d fan. It's the only sim I play in campaign mode on a regular basis nowadays; ATM I only play SH3 to mod.

Great job completing a career; I usually manage between 5-10 victories before I take a bullet to the head, collide with an enemy plane, get captured, or leap from my burning Nieuport at 10,000 feet. :stare:

To be honest, I didn't play RB3D in DID mode. The game's mechanics simply are too unfair in my view to complete an entire career with DID. I'm specifically referring to:
-the unnatural amount of damage planes can take (I often have to hit a plane over 200 times, and this can take as many as 10 minutes, that's just wrong)
-the stupidity of fellow pilots (and enemy as well)
-the dangers of maiming/wounding/being captured (you never know when a wound becomes a maiming, what's going to happen when you're captured and in my case I've even been captured in safe territory)

I started out in August 1915 and I had to reload quite a few times. Sometimes I could play several missions in a row and sometimes I'd lost an evening trying to make it through a single one. I am convinced it is impossible to complete a DID RB3D career.

For WWI, I've not yet found any sim to top RB3D.

Also, it should be remembered that anything which decreases your framerate is also increasing the temperature inside your CPU. Especially with the latest video cards, CPU temp is something to worry about. You pay $450 for that state-of-the-art card, and burn it up a week later, you'll be sorry. That's why I use a the nVidia 6600GT ... $125 and it doesn't meltdown easily.

Once you hit the Host it button you'll get a bunch of URL's pick the one marked Direct link to image and paste that link into the dialogue box that comes up when you try to insert an image in the editing panel when posting.

Those sites have misled you. Belfast was/is a light cruiser, much smaller and more lightly armed than a battle cruiser. They might as well have called her a battleship or aircraft carrier.

Steve, I agree that I would classify it as a light cruiser at best. I just lazily wrote what was on the offical page.:oops:

Heavy cruisers usually started with 8" guns and battlecruisers 12". Although the classification and naming depended a bit on what nation built them and weight and armour thickness also blurred lines.

The Belfast is a Town class cruiser and a member of the Edinburgh sub class which was also known as an improved Southampton class. Which means that Belfast was a slightly longer and heavier cousin to the Southampton class cruisers protrayed in SH3 mods.

I took the shot myself on my most recent visit to London in July 2006 from just outside the Tower of London. I visited the Belfast the visit before and have a bunch of better shots which unfortunately were not taken with a digital camera and I haven't been bothered to go through my albums and scan them. I might see what I can do.
