View Full Version : Powerpoint
My daughter needs this programme to create some presentations but I don't want to spend lots of £££.Does anybody have any ideas?
Try OpenOffice. It does more or less what Word, Power point, Excell and the like do. And it's freeware. It also saves your documents in a Word compatible format (.doc, .xls etc).
You can find it at www.openoffice.org
Looks interesting I will make a note of that. But I already got Office please don't ask me the price.
The price of Office is tantamount to robbery.I have star office-but you know kids they just want to have what everybody else has got.Anyone got a clean bbotleg copy?

2003 here as well and Office 2007 beta is out i hear, but with so many freeware office programs out their, i wont be bothering buying MS office again. Once office03 becomes to outdated i'll move to 'Open Office' One thing about Office is i hate that Outlook, I never will use it, plenty of better ones out you can get as freeware.

On this side of the pond, you can buy it for a good price with a student ID. Don't know if the same is offered over there.

Just what I was going to suggest!
Go to a local college/University and check out the "Academic version" in the book store.
The academic version usually is just the regular version with abreviated or no manuals and a HUGE price discount!
