View Full Version : GW Installation - ok with existing campaign?
New to SH3 and am about 1 year into my first stock campaign. Am downloading GW 1.1 (the link to 1.1a doesn't seem to work). Will installing GW mess up my existing campaign? Or can I just jump right in after installation?

Hi and welcome aboard
You should be fine as long as you are in port when you install it

I just did that myself and am having no problems at all (yet).
But like bigboywooly says, make sure you are in port between patrols when you do it. Otherwise you are in for a lot of trouble.

I did it, and all it does is tell me "base was changed to Kiel" many times until I click OK enough, then it proceeds as normal.

Cool, I think I'm in Wilhemshaven right now. Looks like it's time to install.
Another question, what do you lose from 1.1 to 1.1a? I saw what it said on the GW page but not sure exactly what it meant. Something like AI map or something?

The 1.1A is a self installer with the bearing overlay fix included
The bearing overlay fix for 1.1 is available here

The two links do work but they have exceeded their bandwith limits so are temporarily unavailable
Victim of its own success
Steps are being taken as I write to upload 1.1A to different filesharing hosts

You can download 1.1a via Bittorrent:
http://home.arcor.de/gizzmoe/files/Grey_Wolves_1.1a.torrent
If you donīt have a Bittorrent client you can get one here:
http://www.utorrent.com/
It was at U-Boot.Realsim but I don't see the SHIII download section. Might be down while work is done on the site.

Go to Content/UBRS Download Central. You need to log in first. UBRS only has GW 1.0 btw.

Then there is something is wrong with the utorrent configuration or you havenīt opened a port for utorrent in your firewall. Or both. I see you in the downloader list (85.210.130.19x) and I gave you all my upload bandwidth (42 kB/s), yet only 6-12kB/s come through. You should read the FAQ.
