Might be getting a new car if the finance approves this week, i will be getting a more cost effective car :D the renault megane.
Its a 1.5litre turbo diesel brand new although its been pre registerd with the 55 plate its got just 24 miles on the clock.
It costs now just £667 a year to insure and £50 to tax and diesel is alot more fuel efficent and cost effective.

Funny but i pictured Kapitan in a Boss Mustang 357 V8 with one arm on the steering wheel and the other round some sexy babe - doing 90 in a 50km zone. :arrgh!:

So new car time.
Only got to wait for the finance to come through if i get it that is i still might not i hope i do.

Never owned a car. Never needed a car. Never wanted a car. Never missed a car. Never liked to drive a car. My driving license is rotting somewhere in a hidden box.
Just imagine the tens of thousands of dollars it has saved me in the last twenty years! :D
Renault he, why not a Note?

Those Meganes are nice! I drove one while I was stationed in Italy. Very quick and sporty.
Great gas mileage too!

It's time to come clean  Yes you heard me. I am just like Skybird except in one area, money. I would had a greater saving if I was not being taxed to the hilt. Blasted corrupt Government pinching my money to ....................
I think I shall stop there before I change this topic. :yep:
I think that this car suits Kapitan much better

Just got my insurance quote on it £114 a month consider i was paying over £200 for the rover a month thats good !
On a serious note, if I lived in England and had to get a car, this is what I'd buy,
The Ariel Atom (http://www.arielmotor.co.uk/)
http://www.szweda.com/img/arial.jpg
a it costs 29 thousand pounds and is faster than a Porsche Carrera GT
check out this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdkEV-t9jg0), it's an insane car, and it's road legal!

Also, because the Megane won't do as much damage in an accident as your current vehicle. It's a bit lighter weight. Your gonna love that car though. It takes turns like a champ! I wish the US would have let me keep mine I had in Italy. I had to scrap it before I came home though. :damn:

This change is obviously motivated by financial reasons alone since you're going from "I drive a Sedan and I'm not afraid to smash it, make way!" to "Please don't! I surrender! I'm French!"
I'd take the Green Golf from the last picture. Nevermind, already did, but mine's black. Agile, compact (my last car was a family wagon :dead: ) and damn is it reliable, it's from '98 and it never gave me any trouble. :smug:
Don't plan to ever sell it unless absolutely necessary, I'll wait for the next technology. Untill then if I save enough money for a new car, I'll spend it on "tuning" instead. I want 4-wheel F1 (ceramic?) disc brakes instead of only 2 front-wheel factory crap, sport tires but not too wide please, I want a V8 engine but in case that's prohibitively expensive I'll settle for an unoriginal Turbo add-on, then there's weight reduction, I barely ever use the AC myself, only by demand of my pesky passengers, so that monster can go, saves yearly maintenance too. I wonder how much the Radio/CD-player weights, I don't care for the CD (that doesn't play ogg or wav files since it's older than those formats I suppose) so maybe I can find a pure, lighter, radio unit. Then I'll put a little airfoil in the rear, perhaps add some custom body parts to increase drag a bit and finally hire that painter I saw on Discovery Channel who does realistic flames.
Are there any sports catalyzer mufflers out there? They aren't all noisy are they? I want performance, but law demanded this thing to come with a 1 or 2 HP-eating catalyzer muffler. GIVE ME MY HP BACK! Gotta love driving uphill on 3rd gear, hurrah for torque. Oh, yes, it has manual gears. Great fun! Untill you hit traffic, then it becomes the most painful torture! Whatever the technology, as long as I'm still living in a big city, my next car will be automatic. :know:

I'd just go with a pair of gas powered rollerskates honestly if you want to be all out economic and unique.:yep:
1.5 litres sounds awfully small for a diesel engine.

You can get 1.25 diesel engines too.

modern diesels are coming along in leaps and bounds. over the past few years we have seen 1.9 TD's go from 60bhp to 190bhp.

my brother drives a volvo FH12 that 550BHP however the even bigger one is the 660BHP super charged turbo diesel V12.
Also got a phone call from the garrage this morning "sorry but we have to inform you that one of our engineers has put a scrape down one side of your new car, however we will put this right and also we will offer you a courtosy car untill this matter is resolved."
I did my nut whats worse is when i went to pick the courtosy car up i saw my car and its not a tiny scratch its half the length of the car !!!!!
No guessing but im doing my bolla**s right now.

"sorry but we have to inform you that one of our engineers has put a scrape down one side of your new car,.
it happens, iam a mechanic and must shunt around about 15 cars a day not too mention testdrives, recovery and pick-ups.
driving different cars at that frequency some with issues means your inevitably going to scrape something.
I really do think that diesel is the immediate solution to vehicular energy problems until hydrogen technology is finally ready for widespread use. Unlike hybrids, diesels can be high performance as well as very efficient, in addition to being simple, reliable and cheap.
Check out this awesome clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__HpspsvRVg) of the BMW 535d reviewed on Top Gear- it's faster and cheaper than the equivalent gas model as well as much more efficient, the only way the gas verison is better is acceleration!
Also this clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br6qPRpKqRU&mode=related&search=) from Top Gear which shows even an enormous car like an Audi A8, powered by diesel can get insane MPG.

This makes me feel real nice. I just dropped my Camaro off at the alignment shop after I just lowered it. I have a feeling they are going to run the front spoiler into a curb! :damn:
