new computer, save games transfer?

Hi,


i just bought a new computer, installed SHIII (off course :)) and i copied the SH3 folder over from my old pc to the correct location on the new pc.
In the game, i see my correct academy settings but when i proceed to load my career, i can't find my savegames.
All saves are from during a patrol. Do i need to be in harbour to be able to transfer the savegames or how would it be possible to continue the game?
SHIII is a real pain when it comes to savegames :(

I'm pretty sure it's best to complete all campaigns (be in harbor) before reinstalling, especially with SH3's buggy save system (though it seems better in Grey Wolves).

I seem to remember having a problem loading my saved games when I reinstalled SH3 and only the academy showing up. I had to do some file suffling, but it was so long ago I don't remember what I did. :o

I have the answer here:

what you need to transer or save on an disk when going to an new installation or PC is:

''Thread: Save my SH3 career by HunterICX''

\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers is the only folder you need to save if you are in port
If your still on patrol you will need to save C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\Data too

Nope doesn't work. sigh. save games should be easily transferable nothing like this cr*p. I copied the SH3 dir in the my documents AND the full Silent Hunter dir and... nothing ! Wuh !!!
The person who "invented" this save crapola should be keelhauled.:down:

Edit: I saved the original cfg too from when i reinstalled. The campaign that i'm playing was already in there.
I copied that one and now it works ! Scratch that keelhaul order... Nah, it's still a bad save system :)
But i'm happy i can play and that's what counts in the end.
