He makes it a hard farewell:

Wowh, "ein alter Haudegen" who is heading towards the olymp of sport history. Agassi truly belongs to the legendary figures in that sport, and the end of his career will mean that I loose contact to the last player in tennis whose names has some meaning for me, for I already watched his matches since he entered the great arena so many years ago. One generation of player I remember quite well, McEnroe, Connors, Lendl, Wilander, Edberg, Leconte and of course, Becker who already marked the entrance of the following generation to which also Agassi belongs, alongside Sampras. Great player, great fighter. Reminds me of Connors, somehow, "noch so ein zäher Recke!"

When eventually watching Tennis from now on, I will be watching complete strangers who have no meaning for me anymore.

, Andre!

Frightening, as these are my sentiments exactly. After Sampras retired, it was Agassi that kept my interest in the men's game. I did enjoy watching his development from young tennis thug, to player of the mainstream, and then to elder statesman of the game. With the end of his storied carrer, my interest in the men's division has drawn closed. The women's game, for me, has always had, at least for the last decade, greater depth of talent.

Of course, now we wait for the Agassi/Graf children to grow into the inevitable tennis stars. Can you say pedigree?

I saw the match last night. Andre is the man!

When he leaves all I will have to root for is Rodick.

Reminds me of Graf's career - followed it from her first international tournament, to her last and emotional appearance at the French Open, when she suddenly was so relaxed and open like never before. that last match moved me - maybne because I was with her at the screen from the first to the last chapter.

Thank you for many exciting hours.

I first was confused when seeing his opponent was B. Becker. I thought of a surprising comeback.
