Just got my new pc yesterday....it's oh so nice! I've never seen games play so smooth and with the highest graphics levels. I haven't installed Silent Hunter III yet but I will soon. I bet I'll get 150+ FPS or higher with this gear even with full AA and AF going. Gotta love new stuff! I have never heard such quality sound either. This new X-fi sound card is really a breakthrough - I highly suggest getting one. It puts my old SB to shame. I can't even tell I have headphones on anymore it's just that good with the surround sound. WOW!

ANYWAYS, this was suppose to be an "anger post" but it's more like a "damnit" :damn: post.

Silly me and in all his excitement about the new PC forgot to make a copy of his emails from the old PC hard drive which was formatted last night and reconfigured for my wife's use (she always gets the hand me downs :D )

Oh well, half of those emails were just old junk anyways and there's always gonna be more. But still.....:damn:

It'll become one of those "now where's that info.... Now I remember, it was on that email I got from... Dammit" moments.

Been there before, re-formatted the other halves drive and I month later she asks "where this programme" after I asked her to move everything she want to one place for backing up :damn: :nope:

That is why partitioning is good practice, you install the OS in one place, and you install all other stuff in another partition, so when you reformat you don't lose everything on the spot.

So, what are the specs?

2.4Ghz x 2 Core Duo 2 (4MB L2 cache @ 1066Mhz Frontside Bus)
7900GT 512MB GDDR3 Ram (single card setup, not a secondary with SLI)
Sound Blaster X-fi
2GB RAM DDR2 @ 800mhz
300GB Western Digital HD @ 16MB cache
WinXp Media Edition 2005

Just been playing F.E.A.R at maximum graphical levels for about 45 mins now and no slow downs at all even in heavy gun battles. :rock:This thing rocks!!! I also have my AA and AF on full 8X and 16x respectfully.

I played Hitman Blood Money last night with the same setup - everything maxed out and no slow downs or lag. Eveything just looks oh so pretty!:D

I strongly suggest to people looking to upgrade to look at the new Intel Core Duo 2 and the new Sound Blaster X-fi sound cards. They ARE the bomb!

I might suggest going into the account settings of your email program and select "leave a copy on the server". Also, you can make a .pst file periodically, placing it in a backup folder that you will grab before reformatting. If you still have an extra computer around, utilize it as a file server and keep backup stuff there.

Is there actually a way to fiddle with the SH3 graphical settings other than the stock menu?
