Answer nothing someone I know believes Iran will breakout into a civil war in less than 7 years the young people want more freedom. The person has connections to the Middle East (Sorry no further info than that) so they may be right. Personally I don't know and any way this subject has been talked into the ground and out the other side on this forum.

By the way my boss believes the whole of the Middle East should be nuked off the face of the planet, problem solved world peace. I do not believe in that line of thinking.

PS I am not going to comment any further on this issue until I see some new hard facts. As people keep going over and over and over the same old ground.

By the way, I agree from contacts I have that Iran might break into civil war. "Let them eat plutonium will only work so far"

The answer to the following question is quite simple:

So we’re faced with a quandary: if threat of utter destruction does not deter an ideologue like Ahmadinejad and his theocrat leaders, what might?

The actual act of Mutually Assured Destruction. If Iran attacks with a nuclear weapon, an overwhelming nuclear response that would obliterate the entire nation of Iran. I always thought that the ultimate answer to North Korea's nuclear threats would be one simple sentence:

South Korea would become an Island nation.

I have never actually set foot on Iranian soil but have flown over it many times. The terrain is very harsh and the country is large.Iraq would look like a walk in the park compared to a campaign here! There was a very good article in the USNI Proceedings about the country-the whole US army could go in there and never come out!!!!
The Iranians are using this opportunity to punch above their weight.I am sure that following their recent less than successful mission in lebanon even the Israeli's will think twice about rattling the cage too much.My answer is contain the problem and wait for regime change without invasion
