Yes, this is one of the biggest scams around. Just ask someone at your local FBI office.
Of course I've seen a website by a guy who answers them and tries to scam money out of THEM!:rotfl:
I don't remember where it was, though.

I usually just delete but it may be fun to send some romanian curse words. Write up a template and I will send it around to scammers.

I get lots of emails from people pretending to be Banks asking me to "update my account details".They are all false and go straight into the junk folder. They are quite professionally done, with the correct bank logo, address etc.

Same here, I delete them without reading them and I told my bank not to send me email. By doing this they have to send me letters and if I come across one that looks odd, strait up to the bank I go and show them the letter. In the last five years my bank has thanked me twice for bringing to there attention a couple of scam letters.

It's completely on the level. I now own a series of asbestos manufacturing centers across sub-Saharan Africa. I was told that asbestos is going to make a dramatic comeback. By my calculations, I should only have to wait for a few more weeks, then it's easy street.
All I needed to invest was my savings account information and my credit card number. Sure, I have no savings, and am $50,000 in debt, but it was worth it.
