Greetings from the U.K.
When I use the Kiel Canal pre set course it takes me across country!.
I have G.W.v1, G.W. update v1.1, NYGM v2.0 and Extended Unified Campaign (G.W.+ NYGM) loaded in that order. Can I correct the error?
RR
The cause is most likely the fact that you loaded NYGM and GW at the same time. You shouldn't do this ,because the mods will screw eachother up because some features from a mod cancel out others from the other one.So decide which one you want to use,or just use dual sh3's.

Also, AFAIK, the Extended Unified Campaign doesn´t work with GW 1.1.
What is this? and how is it activated?
I also have problems with the canal preset. :(

Ditto on that--GW+NYGM=Who knows what,; that is probably your problem--I have always been curious whether the kiel canal plotting mod can be implemented into GW as an individual mod?? that may solve our problems since I HATE manually plotting that every mission from Kiel.
Gizz, where did you hear Unified Camp doesn't work with GW,,, I thought it said it was compatible with GW in the title(?). anyway just curious because I am just about to install that on mine....

The Unified Campaign was made for older versions of GW and NYGM. It came out end of March, long before GW 1.1 and NYGM 2.0.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the interest. some of your replies also explain why, when I load a new campaign using a Type 7b, after saving, it locks up during reloading. I have to instal a clean copy of NYGM over the old one, but of course the whole thing happens again. I'll try selective removal and find out what works for me.

Gozo, Once you get the plot to show on the map, you have to use the navigators button that tells the U-boat to follow the plotted course.

I think he means that the preset course goes thru the land. I have had that problem too. I think the boat has to be in a certain angle, so it would get it right. I have had it to go upside down, straight up etc.

Hi Dowly,
As I understand the instructions the course has to be selected before the boat moves from it's docked position. It certainly worked when I used NYGM on it's own so it must get corrupted by one of the other additions.

I can get it to work on the way out, but never on the way back.

So for this, while sitting in Kiel dock if you just tell your Navigator to plot a course to the west, beyond the land, he'll make one automatically through the canal? I'm using GW + SHCIII, do I need anything else? I'm still a little fuzzy about this.

Using the suggestions made by you fine seafarers I have taken out GW v1.1 and Extended Unified Campaign and find that GW+NYGM v2.0 works in all respects.
With regard to the return trip up the canal, you have to start at the exact spot you departed from, pointing in exactly the right direction. I found this too much hassle so either plot my own course, or, if I have enough fuel left, take the long way home!

No. This is a feature exclusive to NYGM Tonnage War, and the waypoints all show up on the map. Using that mod, you have to manually drive to the first waypoint, then engage it to take you through the Canal.
I think it's silly, myself, but then I like driving the boat and setting up my own waypoints, which a lot of other people think is a lot silly.:hmm:

RWR,
I have done it exactly as outlined in the instructions, but it won't work on the way back. It states to start at the exact point you finished, pointing exactly East (90 degrees), at a dead stop. This doesn't work for me; in fact, the plotted course goes South and then East.
HI All !
How do I use this thing and where can I get a pre set course ? Thanks for the help.

Install Not Your Grandmother's Mod Tonnage War 2.? (whatever's latest). Or just their campaign files.
