Whats the object of the game? Is it just a space shooter?
I looked at the screen shots from it's web site and did not notice any cockpit shots.

It is funny because I just downloaded it about an hour ago to give the free 14 day trial a shot.
If you or anyone else would like a free 14 day trial then just go here:
www.eve-online.com/cgw (http://www.eve-online.com/cgw)
I have not had time to get into it to see if I like it or not but now you can give it a try for yourself.
I should also mention that no credit card is needed for the trial.

Personaly i couldnt stand that game, but i know lots of friends who love it. I mainly didnt like it because i found the game to be far to hands off. I spent most of the time in the game with my hands off the keyboard watching the game play itself.

No i wasnt watching a screen saver, it was definatly eve, and i was bored to all heck watching my ship mine. If i could physicly control the ship i would have been more interested, but having the ship basicly fly itself with little need for imput from me was too much.

I'd love to play the game, but 14 ain't enough. And it's pretty damn costy to buy a subscription. At least you don't have to buy the game first like WoW. Buy the game and they buy the subscription just to play the game you bought. Too much for my small pocket. I stick to free MMORPG's and free MMO stuff.

Well , what I like about it is you can leave the game without feeling committed to it....it has a time based xp generator for your character rather than a farming based system....so to learn new skill sets you don't have to devote alot of time to grinding xp to enjoy the game. you can just sign on, pick what skills you want to learn, and then sign off ....and it levels up while you are gone....
I played the original star wars galaxies when it came out....and I used to laugh at how involved it was...It was like a second job......I was always worried whether or not I paid enough rent credits into my houses....and whether or not I had somone manning my mining machines while I was gone....my houses were loaded with collectable junk, tons of rare items, and stockpiles of mining material I had collected over time....and if I failed to pay rent into the house it would eventually burn to the ground with all my stuff in it....frickin empire .....I swear...one of these days....
but, then I guess sony changed everything with the combat upgrade causing alot of players that liked how in- depth the game was at resource collecting and crafting.....to leave and either go to eve online or world of warcraft....
If you ever are in eve online.....type something in chat about star wars galaxies, combat upgrade, or sony...and watch the channels errupt in flaming....its a very touchy subject....and people are very passionate about it....

Yes with good reason, i also played SWG, i had a jedi, the first combat change didnt bother me (lets face it the system was pretty unbalanced), but the second one took the cake, alot of people were very pissed at that, as sony basicly did a bunch of underhanded things (including releasing an expansion right before the change and in the process making most of the stuff in the expansion and wookiee world worthless), and totaly changed the game around in the process destroying all the work most of the player base had put in to their characters.
Alot of my friends are in eve, but i personaly dont like it, I dont see the point in playing a game that basicly plays itself, and i in some ways dont like the leveling system (in otherways i do as it saves grinding xp at least).
As for WoW i hate it as well, but for a entirely different reason (the never ending time sink/grind fest which i absolutly loath. Im sick of mmo's that keep people paying by making the grind unending and very boring).
Anyhow lets stay somewhat on topic, if ya all wana discuss MMO's in general ill split this thread for that :)
