Even the slowest BB is a big jump over the old phone line dial up modem. Your excitement is entirely justified. Welcome to the 21st century of internet.

On Work, I'm on 56k,
At home I have an 1024/320 Adsl connection
Hehe I,m also an Ex-56 K modem user back home
Jumped from 56k to 256/128 Adsl and the providor Upgrades the connection once in an while so I started with 256/128 to 512/128 to 1024/320
No Data-limit
:smug:
Geez you guys make me feel old. I remember 1200 baud. 56k was considered lightspeed by comparison...

1200 baud? Pure luxury! ;) I had one of these 300 baud things in the mid-Eighties:

Since the handset didnīt fit into it I had to disassemble the accoustic coupler and use rubber bands to attach the handset to it. Then I had to put the whole thing under my bed sheet to get a good accoustic shielding. Good old times... :dead:

I was lucky. I went to work for Digital Equipment Corp in 1986 which allowed me access to the cutting edge of technology. Before that it was Army teletype machines which blazed along at the lightening speed of 60 words (5 letters) per minute.
