what r other people's thoughts on this?

i would definetly want them to be louder and create more turbulance in the water.

Looked on the external view the other day when i was being DC and the explosions were very small and yet all seemed to cause damage. Would not mind seeing some huge explosions rocking the boat about and the sound of it blowing out your ear drums, just like in das boot. But it is a minor thing for me if someone comes up with some mod for it great, but if not i wont lose any sleep.

the size of the visible explosion doesnt matter so much, the giant shockwave flying out like a wall of concrete does.

couldnt agree more buddy but thats the point im tryin to make. the effects really should be more loud and visual than they are now. in my example if it hadnt have been for a damage message i recieved i wouldnt have known the dc had exploded. not very immersive i must say and unfortunately i doubt this could be modded

Well, it's usually best not to base what one should expect/is real from any movie :)
But yes, at least in the game, rock and roll would be nice.

im goin back a few years now but one of the first sub sims i played was called 688 attack sub. i remember when u got hid with ordinance the effects were great, the screen would flicker n shake and it would make a whole lotta noise as well.

1) Use the mod that reduces DC damage. I think it comes with both supermods.
2) Use Sound Recorder to turn up the volume on the explosions. You can make it as loud as you want.

The DC explosions in the Grey Wolves mod are more dramatic than stock SH3.

 Depth Charges...I love the effect of that the voices change of ur crew...
its going panic...and I must say...TGW has some nice sounds for DC's exploding and thanks to my Headset...if I look around in the Commander room I can hear wich side they explode..
when there is an DC exploding on the left side my Left side of the headphone I hear it louder...so its like ur standing in the commander room for real :|\\
Also I Miss the blurry shaking of ur screen. and some screaming of the crewmembers of cursing and some things what you would say in an panic moment

Excuse me if I butt in, but there's a free program called Audacity that's much more full-featured than sound recorder. I think it was PC mag that said they had a hard time believing a full-featured audio editor could be free. Fortunately, since it's open source, cross-platform (mac, linux, windows) it'll stay free.

They're right, there are several programs which do a lot more. However, if you just want to adjust the volume, go to Start/Programs/Entertainment/Sound Recorder (I think I may have missed a step between Programs and Entertainment, but I can't look it up on the library's computer, so I'm going from memory). Once the little Sound Recorder box is showing, you can load any .wav file and adjust the volume.
Also look in the Help section. It will tell you more than I can from where I'm at.

I'm most fond of the DBSM sound files I collected from the SHII mod. My collection includes a depth-charge sound that starts with the 'click' of the primer going off.
The whole thing is available at http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/
It's in the SH3 Downloads section, in Audio Files, under Sailor Steve(1.4 ready).rar
