'Recreate this' screenshot competition [ROUND 1 OVER]

Ok, first of all. There are no prizes, only fame.

The idea is that I post a real photo and you must recreate the photo using SHIII screenshot.

Rules:
1. Editing the screenshot is allowed
2. Nothing from the photo which I post, cannot be copy&pasted to your screenshot.
3. Max. resolution of the screenshot is 800x600 (You might want to keep the 1024x768 version on your PC, as these competitions tend to produce cool looking wallpapers! :D)
4. I will decide the winning shot (dont take it personally, if yours is not winner.)
5. Two (2) screenshots per user are allowed. (Of course, you can again submit
when the next competition starts.)

Yes I did won the best cover for SHIV competition back in the day and got the signed by dev. team SHIII game pack. I thought this competition was a great idea and very challenging. Also participating in the Ubi screenie comp. but ti seems its for more of the regulars there who win it every month :hmm: :D.

Man it would be awsome if they could model "salt spray" in the game. I think it would add a lot to the immersion. Imagine having to duck occasionly to keep from getting a face full.

You have a very good point there. But, IMO it then loses the point of the competition.
But I´m willing to allows only un-edited shots starting from round 2.

Tell me who are against it and so on...

You don´t need Photoshop. There are very good freeware programs, like GIMP:

Yup, takes abit of a practice, but it´s a very powerfull program. I started with it, before purchasing a Photoshop. Competitions like this are a great opportunity to learn manipulate screenshots. :up:

Features that led to win:
-Two men on deck
-Point-of-view is almost identical with the original shot
-The water sprays

All in all I find this shot to be closest to the real photo.
