I don't even know what to say about this anymore - it seems as if muslim offence to trivial stuff will never end. At least no arrogant demands have been made yet, and there has been no PC appeasement. This kind of report depresses me though - it is not that important by itself but is a sign of the times I guess.

In case anyone is wondering, apparently a large poster of Kate Moss has been placed too close to a mosque. Since she is not dressed to conform to conservative muslim standards (to put it mildly:lol:) and is touching a shirtless guy, there is anger amongst the muslim community. I haven't heard much more about it yet though - maybe the media is just looking to create trouble in this case. I am worried anyway, considering recent freedom-of-speech vs islamic conservativism confrontations that I do not need to mention.:hmm:

The second half of the article is some crap about Kate Moss's engagement or something - it doesn't matter here.

Another Link: (Just speculation though, maybe there is really nothing to report. I hope so anyway)

Anyone have an opinion? Should the poster be removed to calm the muslim community? Or are they over reacting again? Or is the press just trying to milk readers' fear of islam with a pointless story that will never mean anything or escalate?

(BTW - I am not trying to start a flame war here. I have noticed that that happens sometimes:o)

Since 1958 when the book of the same name came out, the term "Ugly American" has been used to refer to perceptions worldwide of the arrogant, intolerant, thoughtless and defensive behavior of Americans abroad. We've certainly deserved the title at times.

So...can we start referring to Ugly Muslims now? If it was a Chivas Regal billboard would they be be offended by the sight of alcohol? We need to start doing what the Dutch are doing. Showing them films of Western women splashing about in bikinis and letting them know up front this is the mild version of what they will have to put up with if they want to live here. Either that or erect a canvas screen around every mosque. Imagine the reaction if a Tony Romas restaurant moves in across the street and starts selling pork ribs. Can't shut out the aroma of those delicious babyback ribs.

BTW Kate Moss...not terribly attractive...or it's a bad photo.

When you emigrate to a foreign country it is to be expected that it is you who will have to adapt and tolerate the host culture. While I think these articles are classic examples of the media attempting to manufacture controversy, if there is any substance to them then I say too bad to those who are offended.

They're overreacting.

I don't like seeing a naked lady every time I watch a toothpaste commercial so I don't purchase cable, I review what movie ratings are and why they are before I watch them and skip over questionable scenes I don't want to watch.

If there's an advertisement or billboard I find offensive, I look away. I'm not being forced to look at it at gunpoint. And the people who put up that billboard have the right to put it there, but I have the choice whether or not I want to look at it.

It's as simple as that.

It is my Personal Opinion that Every Person should have the right to Believe in every Religion they want (YES even Islam!) as long as they don't Hurt anyone else by it (Physically). But it is also not Correct to Abuse the Whole world with your religion.

If they don't want to be offended by something, they should stay in Arab/Muslim Countrys. There's nothing to Offend them there. If they come to america for Instance, they must be able to Tolerate the New Culture. It just can't be that they say: "Don't offend us or we Blow you away!".

I mean...thats Bushy!:damn:

The Problem are the Radicals. I've seen Muslims on TV who are Peaceful. Well, a shame that it's not the Majority.

But i don't want a thing like "Arab Racism" to Start! I mean...thats Nazi 2!
Oh ****...That Already Happened.

Huge thanks to Hizbollah for that Bullsh*t!

I have a problem with Islam, because Islam has a problem with me: I exist, therefore I must be excecuted. This is within Islamic doctrine.

Islam must go, not because I believe it to bea false religion, but because it is a religion that encourages violence, warfare, and outright domination and opression of its' subjects.
