Have to change signature again? :D

The important thing is to max out the repair crew, or get the bar on top of that "square" as high as possible.

After that it is important to have lots of men in the compartments that are damaged, as they also repair.

Assign the repair crew to the most damaged section, and go from there.

and, of course (well, somebody always has to say this), make sure that you are not in silent running mode, as this will prevent the repair crew from doing its job (doing repairs would make a lot of noise, so they don't work if you have ordered silent running)

also, check the numbers associated with the flooding compartments and make sure to assign your repair crew to the compartment that is flooding the fastest/soonest - but keep an eye on the other compartments because once you get the worst compartment a bit more under control, you may need to switch the repair crew to the next worst one so it doesn't fill up while you're emptying out the first one.

and of course, if all else fails, grab your ankles, bend down, put your head between your knees and kiss your A@@ goodbye :o

:shifty: Well Stabiz , I think I just cheat death this time,

the story of my problems was intercepting an convoy with 4 - 5 Large tankers in it from the West of England...in grid AL35, the first time I enterd the Convoy I sunk 2 Tankers , I went out for reloading my tubes and recharge my batteries,
the second time I went in I had to snuck past an Escort Destroyer....I lost contact with him when I was in the center of the convoy....good..he's away i thought

I was shooting at an Tanker with 2 torps when suddently my SO yelled Warship Contact! I looked at the correspondend Bearing...and holy Cows!! he showed up at the back of an large Cargo, in 600 meter range and he was after me...I heard his pinging...and ''Depth Charges in the water sire'' We've flooding sir, we've flooding sir! ship damaged sir!''

I looked at my Crew managment screen...4 compartments had an flooding ''Stern Torp room, Electric Engine, Diesels and stern bow....so I got pulled down in an instant to 45 meters....I did crazy thing with the repair and at 160 meters I had the compressor repaired....and 1 big leak in the elec engines....after an while I was on 220 meters depth....and I could reach 2knt speed going full speed and blowed my ballast....I reached the 140 meters...after that I went down again....i was clicking like crazy....and I reached the 300 meters....Holy ****! ..... kept going down to 350 meters with my VIIC:huh: (that deep) and after that....everyone was death and I lost my sub....

it looked foolish...because my Ass had flooding my Nose of the sub was pointing almost straight up....I wish I had some Afterburnes to launch myself out of the water :rotfl:

but I pretend this was an Herrkaleuns bad nightmare so my 19th patrol will start today officially

:x because the DD that striked me was the ''Flower Corvette from hell'' I can evade every type of DD easy but those Flowers are 90% of the time the ones that kill me in game.....:shifty:

Personally I'd have repaired the engines first and blown my ballast tanks, and just hope that I rose slowly enough to be able to repair all the damage and re-commence a forced dive.

If you're in shallow enough water, just let yourself sink to the bottom as long as you're level. Deal with the flooding ASAP, and then go to silent running and play possum. (i.e. dead)

:-? before I Re-start my 19th patrol I'll hire another officer and some extra petty

The Officer I look for is an Torpedo man and Repair man.
and some petty's with repair qualification.
