Hi All,
I am currently in the 2nd flotilla at Lorient, it's November 1941 and I have a 1XC sub, and loads of renown. I want to move to a diffrent flotilla where I will get better patrols that are hopefully a little further away that the ones I get now, and also I want access to new/better subs and equipment ASAP.

Which would be a good flotilla to move to? If I move to the "wrong" flotilla, will I loose my 1XC?

Also, Lorient is a pain to get in and out of? Which is the best harbour to be bassed in for accessability?

You can find a list of combat flotillas here:

http://uboat.net/flotillas/combat.htm

You'll find the bases and the U-Boat types among other things.

Don't move yet Hunting season will soon be open on the east coast of America and Mexico and all those tankers to hunt. :ping:

The 7th flotilla is easy to sail in and out of. :yep:

Yep, Lorient will send you to North America after Dec 7, 41. Enjoy your patrols near home base as you will get sick of the traveling. LOL In the right grids you'll get all the shipping you want. Use SHIII Commander and you can select the grids you want to patrol.

Sorry to butt in on this thread to ask, but I hate to start threads just for one question and this seems apprpriate as you are talking on Flotillas, and choosing one.

But just what Flotilla is based at La Rochelle in SH3? There seems no indication on the transfer page on what bases the Flotillas are at. I know of course that it was the 3rd Flotilla that was based there in real life, but there is no 3rd Flotilla shown on the transfer page, however I see on my map that La Rochelle is there & in blue.
I'd like to transfer to it, but unsure of what Flotilla to request.

Thanks for the pointer, but I knew that already. I go to uboat.net often for info, but that's just it I dont see anything of the 3rd Flotilla in SH3. It's just not availible, so I just thought that perhaps SH3 had a different one there instead of the historicly correct one.
I even tried to see which flotilla it would be by starting a new carreer and La Rochelle isnt even availble there either, in any year, even in 43'.

But I do see it in Blue as a friendly base on my map in my current carreer based at St. Nazaire and it is May of 1942 on my current patrol #14.
Hmmm, so it looks to me that I simply cannot transfer there, but that it's just another friendly port I can access by sailing to it. Was just hoping I was wrong and missed something as I do seem to remember having read of others sailing from La Rochelle on the forums, did a search but it wont accept the entire name "La Rochelle", just "Rochelle" so it turned up nothing usefull.

Thanks anyway, I'll just have to sail in there some time to see it I geuss. (curious if it looks anything like the real one.;) )
