Hello fellow kapitans!
This thing has been bugging me for some time, but I haven't really thought that it was so important. That was untill a few days ago when I saw about 2-3 large and medium cargo's in the position in port you will see in the picture.I want to ask how exactly (if there is a way) you sink these guys?I thought about sending magnetic torps under them to blow-up but that would be very risky as you would have a very close distance between ship keel and sea-floor so getting right depth is crucial and because of this there is a high probability things could go wrong,as in being detected by coastal defenders because of the manouvering you would have to do to get in position.I took this picture of a small merchant in a smiliar position to the one those cargos were in.

Well the only way I have found succesfully to sink them like that is to use magnetics set just below the keel
You will have to be facing the bow 0 angle to make sure of a good shot
Get your Navigator to give you a depth reading and make sure you are not too deep
Failing that I have in the past surfaced and deckgunned them but thats usually in a neutral port

Thanks for a quick reply!I usually use the same method, but I always sink other ships in the harbour because I think it is a very probable torpedo waste especially with all the defects of the magnetic trigger+ depth keeping problems and even getting in position without being detected or bashing the sea-floor .I was hoping there might be a more simple method to do this and with less risks

If they are not so far in the dock you can use an angled shot so you just miss the concrete pier and hit the bow of the ship but the one in the pic is too far back for that

answer to your question well the way I did it entered the harbour took out the passenger liner at the far end then took out the hunt1 dd sailed into the main part of the harbour took out the tanker the C2 then the guy your pointing too, sailed back out (black swan frigate pinging me all the time) took the black swan out then the small tanker and then the other passenger liner,. all torpedo's were set to magnetic.
