Discuss the survey results here! (http://www.subsim.com/sh2fleet_forms/sh4_survey_final.htm)

The thing that surprised me the most was that only 35% use manual TDC. I thought it'd be something like 60%, certainly more than 1/2. What was also unexpected was that out of those 35%, a lot of them apparently did everything themselves.

I think that the hard core sub simmers will want to run any sub sim at 100 percent reality. Personally, although I sometimes run SH111 at 100 percent with moderate success, I get more enjoyment out of the game with my realism settings at about 60 to 70. I hope that SH1V will be flexible with its reality options, so that people can run the game with reality set anywhere from 10 to 100.

I was a little suprised that more didn't want more radio traffic (I voted with the rest for more historical shipping). I guess that the modders will have something to do when it comes out.

I was quiet glad to see Australia so high up in the country rankings for the survey, not to mention the wide range of countries that people came from. It's nice to think that all can enjoy the game and share there experiences around the globe.

What struck me with the radios was that the historical encounters and landings can be done by modders, while all this interactive radio stuff can't (if it's going to be like Silent Hunter III). So I expected everyone to vote for the last option (radios).

Oh, and those 5% who didn't care about the dynamic campaign - what the Heck are they smoking and where can I get it?!

Interesting to see the U.K. comes in second place after the U.S.A and yet alot of the country's come after the U.K. are bigger than us. :hmm:

Thatīs not really surprising. Many people from non-English speaking countries prefer local sites, mostly because they donīt know English well enough.

I would guess that the percentage of people using manual TDC is lower than 35%. I get the feeling that some really do not know what it means. For example, on this forum I see people say they are using manual TDC, and what they are really using is WO assistance.

My guess is the real number is less than 20%.
