Excuse me mr mod. I am asking for info, not making an announcement of some grand discovery. I can't very well post in locked threads.

It's a taboo subject on SS forums bud..

Itīs not. People here are free to ask whatever question they want and they should get at least one good and helpful reply. If some people donīt like a certain question and have nothing helpful to say then itīs better to say nothing at all.

The reason i said it was taboo..is to save lot of grief for the new guys. You know people just have to say something bud...good or bad, some people can't help themselves :p

I think what people are trying to say Andy is that the proprietary add-on you must pay hard cash for is nothing more than a rip off of already created user mods which are always free for download and which are likely much better. There is no need to pay for this propritey add on which actually takes that which is created by users and is the collective property of the community and effectively steals it for the sake of profit.

Just to add something new to this old and tired polemic: perhaps from now on modders ought to protect their mods with the GPL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPL). I'm not sure if a mod for a proprietary game can be applied to the GPL but it's worth a look. It would make anything like this proprietary mod which steals modders mods illegal.

Just a thought regarding the EB available addon; which, as has been stated, is available for free download. If you are impressed enough to even contemplate buying it from EB, why not download it and then donate (say) 66% of the retail price to the people who really need it, i.e. the team that spent their time and effort actually developing the mod? Or split that 50/50 between them and this site? That way, YOU save a little cash and THEY get some reward for their hard work. (By "THEY", I include the team who maintain this site, of course!)
2nd thought... it never ceases to amaze me just how intolerant some people are. Nothing to do with what's in this particular thread, just reading comments some people have made in several of the threads. Maybe they were born with the inate ability to completely understand all aspects of this Sim, or other sims and games and never needed to ask a "How do I..." question. Or am I simply being intolerant here? <grin>
