Good, good, but not enough.
Behold MMO Pong: http://pong.flash-gear.com/
Doesn't seem to be very popular anymore, or maybe it still is, try it during office hours, I'm sure the room will be filled with players then.
Anyway, how about combining this with theaters? Instead of going to the movies to watch some communist propaganda trash or enduring movies with the ever annoying Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, with the rare exceptions of usual, your ticket would buy you two hours of playtime. You'd find an empty seat, grab an Atari joystick for nostalgia, and play 3D Pong, with the 3D glasses and all, on a massive screen, with all the other players in the room divided randomly among the two teams.
Sounds like fun, no? Imagine if some smart players started sabotaging their own team, attempting to move the racket the wrong way. Instead of being covered by the anomnity of the internet, you'd be able to find the bastards training on whoever's gritty with giggles, then you'd beat the crap out of them. There should be a rule and a consenting form making this legal. If you conspire against the people you are to get punished for being an enemy of the revolution, and everybody will police each other looking for traitors of the regime, that's as communist as the movie everybody would be watching otherwise anyway!
Good, good, but not enough.
