I mean seriously do these guys just get drunk and throw each other off the boat instead of actually looking for ships?!? :nope:

Though theres been several experiances that have ended a campaign or nearly have, tonight I had one that just makes me angry.... it was a calm night, no fog, no wind nothing, when suddenly I hear "Were taking damage, Sir" and "Were under attack sir" I immediatly crash dive and check my damage minor damage on the command room along with some flooding, then BOOM another hit, flooding across all frontal decks, but damage still minor, as we were close to the surfice flooding was undercontrol in seconds and infact I think helped me get under faster :) and my hull was down to 86%... bah made it out, hope he dont hit me on death charges though... anyways back on topic, WHAT THE ******* WAS MY BRIDGE CREW DOING, I shouldadived without them.... :damn:

Feel free to post your dumb-bridge moments ;)

yeah i had the same thing but with planes, i was sailing along minding my own business when these bombers came from no where, i ordered my flak gunnner to fire at will.... what did he do?? nothing sat there probably wondering what those strange objects were in the sky and what those things are that keep exploding next to the boat, im sure i saw him scratch his head at one point:damn:

Yea it's a know bug with that idiot flak-gunner.Just cycle trough the gun positions and bridge or designate a plane with the binocs so that guy can start shooting.
About the bridge-crew,at night they seem to be totatl idiots.Once i was cruising at full twards my patrol-sector near the norwegian coast at night.I was inside the command room looking at damage/crew torps being in a small skirmish with 2 DD's and escaping alive.Suddenly, the watch-officer said that he spotted a ship bearing 356 or something like that ,close range.I was surprised he detected it at close range because usually they would detect targets at 13k+ during daytime and a little less at night. So i went out to the bridge to see where the target is.To my surprise it was A FEW METERS AHEAD OF ME AND I CRASHED RIGHT INTO IT!It was a steamer i think or a small merchant.Man those bridge guys are idiots some time.

My crew totally missed a convoy until it was 1000 meters away on a bright day. Most of the merchants were armed, so you can guess what happened. :damn:

:smug: I dont have a lot problems with my Watch Crew, most of the time they spot an DD from 10 - 15 km range

Sack them when you get back to port and get some new ones. :yep:

The only time my watch crew let me down is at night in a thunderstorm when a Destroyer is right on top of me, but I shall put this down to rotten weather.

I just switched from NYGM2.0 to GW. I noticed some things. One, my bridge crew has gone blind. Two, my sonarman is now deaf. Three, destroyers are now psychic.

My bridge crew can't see smoke on the horizon that's plain to me without binoculars. My sonarman can't hear screws that I can count RPMS on. Destroyers now have a "feeling" that I am stalking thier convoy and will come from 5KM or more out, right at me when I am silent running at perisope depth at 3 knots with the scope down.

NYGM 2.0 did a really good job tweaking these things to make them behave more realistically.

Those problems are not from the mod. Those have been around since the stock game. The blind crew..deaf sonarman..etc are all stock problems.

I mean seriously do these guys just get drunk and throw each other off the boat instead of actually looking for ships?!? :nope: Yes. It's a new feature come the latest release of SH3 Commander. Find the "Political Correctness" option and turn it off, and the Kriegsmarine will stop hiring blind watchmen and deaf hydrophone officers:up:.

It's bad when I can see a ship over the W.O.s shoulder in broad daylight without binocs and ask the crew about surface contacts and get " no surface contacts". When I use the UZO to site the target in the watch crew acts as if they knew it was there all along.:nope:

I know what you mean..my pet peave is when you're on the surface already engaged with a with your deck gun on a ship, you get a nice message come up "we've been spotted sir " DUH!! REALLY !

i've never really experienced any severe trouble with my watch crew... i mean the way they heroically stand strong when the waves pour over them, they are heroes!
there should be implemented chances for them to being washed off :)

Dont get too many problems with my GW watch crew
Though I remember on one occasion I heard the horrendous scream of metal on metal and got the message "we are taking damage"
Moved to bridge view to find we are bouncing of the sides of a C2 on a parrallel course !
Geez it looked big :o but still never got a "ship spotted" message

I had a similar experience, but it wasn't a C2. It was a destroyer. granted, the wather was bad (but if the weather was so bad, how did the bloody destroyer find me, eh?), but still, the first warning I had, was shouted warnings of floodings, engines destroyed, men down on deck; after about 5 seconds of that, I got the "submarine destroyed" screen. I'd just had time to click on the warship icon on the map screen to see it was (IIRC) a J-class destroyer.:damn:

No 'dead is dead' for me when it pulls this crap on me outta nowhere.
