What is the exact meaning of the two icons that appear in damaged/flooding compartments on the damage control screen? One looks like a pump and the other is a circle with an X through it. Both have timers on them.

(I am guessing the first icon is the amount of time it will take to stop more water from entering the compartment?)

The pump one is how much time it will take to get the flooding under control (meening stop more water from entering), the one with the X meens how much time till the section is totaly flooded (and you die)

If T is bigger then X then you better put every man into repairing that section ;)

Thanks! That makes sense.

I just noticed yesterday that your sub tilts forward or backward when submerged due to the flooding. I had my rear compartments flooded and my sub tilted about 45 degrees nose-up in the 3D view. Had to run the engines at flank speed just to maintain depth. Awesome attention to detail!

YES. Throw every man into that compartment you can, and get the DC (Damage Control) team working on the worst flooding section. As that one improves, get them to the new worst one. This kind of situation is where you thank yourself for staying on the English Shelf, where you can sink till you hit bottom, and repair down there, instead of heading for your crush depth, and exceeding it.

I had a funny one where I had a full complement of damage control personnel and hull damage but they would not repair anything. The flooding was stoppable but due to their inaction my sub eventually exceeded crush depth. Thinking about it, I also had personnel in the electric engine compartment but the engines wouldn't work. No injuries or anything. Never seen it before or since. Using Grey Wolves.

I had something like that happen to me but I had forgotten to take her off silent running , about lost her because of a little over sight.:rotfl:

Odds are you left silent running on as was said (a very common mistake)

As for the electric engines, there are a couple of possibilities, either your batteries, engines, or propellers were destroyed, or it was a glitch.
