No follow-along view mode?

Is there only one external view mode in SHIII and do you have to keep chasing your ship to keep it in sight (short of bringing her to a stop i mean)?

Yes, use the < key..

also the > key, it only tracks "alive" ships in sensor range, not destroyed ships or torpedoes

Not intended to be overly picky, but the keys are actually "," and ".".

The external view needs some work anyhow. Like following specific objects, showing where they are, tracking objects, fly-by mode, follow projectile mode, and maybe some sort of cinematic thing which focuses on the action.

But that's for another thread:-?.
