What strategy do you use in the Bismarck single mission to keep it from being plugged full of holes and sunk? The best I've been able to do is sink the Nelson and all but one of the other warships (can't remember it there are three or four more), but not before they sink the Bismarck.

What I do: As soon as it starts, order back emergency, hard to starboard to bring the bow of the sub facing the Nelson and cripple it with a couple torps (haven't been able to sink it with one two-torp salvo, should I fire more?) The remaining warships, and crippled Nelson, were then like shooting ducks in a pond, except for the last one that tried to hunt me down, but gave up and headed NW, back to England I assume. Chicken. :rotfl:

I remember reading in another thread about this. Regardless if you sink all the British ships, Bismark will run in a wide circle and slowly sinks. I believe that's the way it is modeled in the mission.

I don't play the single mission that often but when I do I can sink the British Battle group before they can sink the Bismark.

Yeah ... but how do you do it? I can't seem to get enough torps into the warships before they sink the Bismarck. :-?

I use an IXD2 the boat I use in the campaign 2 torps into the nelson, 2 into the KG, 1torp into each dd.
