Hmm. I want a self parking BMW! My SAAB doesn't have that option and I bought every option possible! I've been cheated! I do have Parktronic, but that is not as cool as this!

Old news

Toyota Prius already has the parking assistant that'll park the car eg. in to a pocket.
All you have to do is show it where you want it and apply brake when needed.

But it is obvious that these kind of assistants and other automated features are on top of every major car manufacturers list. There's no going back.

I'm just waiting for that day the car will talk back to me and have a dry sense of humor. Knight Rider style

Ahh - this is way better. Its sensors will park you car perfectly - without you in it! Watch the video! It is pretty cool.

I saw the Toyota deal on TV, and it is pretty cool too, but not like this.

as a mechanic i see often how many sensors go wrong and how easy it is for them to be fooled. now do you really want something that can be totaly confuzzled by bird poo parking your £60000 car without you in it?

Isn't that a warranty issue? :p

iam sure somewhere the warranty would state 'under parking conditions the driver must be in the car'

Yep, I watched the vid. Looked pretty neat, Beamer driving by itself. Only I didn't get from the clip if the Beamer is able to turn also. Or is it just driving it back and forth. The Toyota looks pretty weird when it turns the steeringwheel by itself etc. :o

I wonder what's the next big invention will be. Autopilot? :hmm:

I think I see the makings of a lawsuit. Nice! Here you are making a device that parks the car without the driver in it, yet then you do a minor little bit of fine writting that states the driver must be in the car as it parks. Seems to me that they are making themselves liably open because the intention of the device is to park the car without the driver! A little clause like that probably won't help them in a court of law, because the intent is to park the car without the driver.

I think this one does too - otherwise it would be pretty worthless! :)
