If this was a real situation how would you respond?
I am traveling out of port 14 knots then i speed up to full power to which is 30.6 knots you then run into bad weather what do you do ?
This is what i did, imediatly cut my speed from 30 knots to just over 14 knots turned on all the ships lights and put the bow into the on coming waves. (bear in mind this is a roro ferry).
would you have done the same or something slightly diffrent ?

1, i would be wondering if 4fps is any good.
2, i would want to see a weather report, if you have 30 knots to play with and are only catching the edge of a front could jiggidy the course a little to miss the worse.

Still afloat no damage made port ok, but should i have slowed down ? or kept her at 30 knots or should i have gone a tad faster ?
Kap, I don't care if you sent it to the bottom of the sea or crashed it. :p

I would forbid putting a Playboy magazine on the radar screen :D
You did the right thing to slow down. The word "Estonia" comes to mind.
"Full speed ahead Mr Mate, set course for the seabed!" :arrgh!:

I would make a ship-to-shore call to your Lloyds agent to make sure you're covered for anything that's about to happen. :()1:
