Hello!
It's 9/1939 and I scored a hit on the norwegian loner by mistake (night attack). I'm now on the surface, considering what should I do? I'm using NYGM 2.01 now and even I read through the manual, I didn't find detailed info what is my punishment for the sinking the neutral (if it would go down). Info availible?

A period of time after you sunk the neutral (i can't remember the exact value) the country considers you a renegade and attacks you on sight. If you attack other neutral ships during this status,i think the tonnage is deducted from you at the end.About the first neutral you sink...i don't think it is deducted from you as long as you are not considered a renegade.
PS:That also happenes to me a lot of times especially at the start of the war -those damn Norvegians travel close to the English and use similar ships and in a storm it's hard to identify them:)
Hey, thats my countrymen you`re talking about! *donning helmet and sharpening broadsword*
Ehm :), he wasn't saying it in a negative way :D Let's all have a beer and a torpedo...
And talking about countries. When I was a little boy, I was dreaming of becoming a famous submarine skipper. That lasted until I found out that my country owns only one submarine...:o...
Hehe, I know, just messing around.
What country is that? (The Swiss probably have less than one)
PS: The Norwegian army is ridicolous. The F-16`s we sent to Iraq couldn`t fly at night, for example.
Romania.
Oh...and we also have 3 frigates (2 bought from the americans). Actually..the third one is built with russian specifications.

Punishment?
Maybe the Fuhrer takes away all you own and put you in an TYPE IIA for the rest of the war hanging around with ROOKIE crewmembers :hmm:
I'm from Romania too and i was also shocked to find the "huge" number of submarines our country has...the only good things in our army are probaly the tanks and planes which are made "in-house" (well some tanks are heavily modified russian t80-s and t72's but they are pretty different from the "stock" tanks:) ).
I didn`t know that Romania produced weaponry. Pics?
I spent a year in the Norwegian army, and the only fun parts were the AG3 on full auto, and the amazing MG42 on a tripod.
Yes,romanians produce weaponry. However, the only thing we have "fully" invented ourselves are the IAR helicopters/planes.Most other war machines/equipment/weapons are still made by romanians, but are really heavily modified versions of Russian technology.I already said about the tanks and also the AKM is a romanian made AK,which is a modifed version of the AK47 ,made for NATO standads(fires different kinds of bullets, and some other specs which are imposed by NATO),and it is widely used in other countries as well, each with it's own small modifications. Also,we use some sort of modified Dragunov sniper-rifle callde Romak i think but i'm not sure.
Also, that romanian sub ,called "The Dolphin " (Delfinul in romana) can't even submerge, because the romanian navy, for some reason, does not want to use money to repair the subs under-water systems .Instead, they use the money to buy frigates from the Brits. How could they do that
To my joy however, the sub is going into some heavy repairs and by 2007 it will be participating in missions on(and hopefully IN the water).Wopee:arrgh!:
Also, the Romanians had 7 submarines during the war...The Dolphin, the Shark and another one...can't remember it's name, which were Romanian, and 4 more which were actually u-boats.They fought in the war and showed gr8 heroism in the blocade of Crimeea and the Caucazus ,but they were confiscate by the Soviets...and only the dolphin was returned:cry::cry:.Here's some old pics from the war i think :

Ok, men. Just calm down everyone!
I just wasn't sure, how NYGM handles the sinkings of the neutrals. These crazy vikings (sorry stabitz!) were driving around without the lights on, heading to the England... So of course I was quite sure it's the enemy here and when it's dark on the surface, it's a real pain in your... if you try to indentify the ship looking it's flag.
BUT, the good news is, it didn't sinked. We "cheked it's papers, saw it was carrying the cargo of wood items to Dover", so we thought to leave it like it was. ;) We send a message to BdU and got orders to get the boat to Wilhelshaven immedeadedly.
After returning to the base the commander of the boat was promoted to Kapitänleutnant (we scored about 5000 tons before on the same patrol).
BTW, I'm fm Finland and we don't have even a single boat in service. If we got, I certainly tried to get into navy service. But, in RL, I got some nice time in the LRRP, so I'm not whining.
BdU is pretty weird sometimes.Once i sank a ship that was neutral but would later become and axis allie, can't relaly remember what country it was but it was green on the map. So,i accidentaly sank it ,and sent a report to BdU informing them about my "mistake".The answer was a little weird..."Keep up the good work!"

Yep, there is not too many responses fm BdU. Allmost, like Dönitz would not care what his boys are doing. Like: A staff officer comes to BdU: "Sir, U-X just reported it got Tirpitz to sink by an accident!"
"Erhm, so...?"
"Well, Sir, what do we respond to the boat?"
"Oh, just pick up one of those we allways send, Leutnant."
"Like... Well done..?!?"
"What's the matter with you, Leutnant?"
"Nothing, Sir. We'll send the message, Sir. Right away, Sir!"
...
"Bloody war... Allways disturbing your billiard game..."
