Torpedo gyro settings in real life

Being a member of the realisim police in (another forum), I am curious as to how the gyro figure is really entered into a torpedo ion real life.

The reason why... is that I like to flood my tubes prior to releasing the torpedo to improve accuracy... ie no delay in releasing the fish. However I am still able to adjust the gyro angle after the tube is flooded. Was this really achievable in WWII or is it a fault in the game?

The first giro settings was introduced manually, with a tool, through a hole in the torpedo tube.

In WW2, may be in early time even, it was introduced using a set of sindronic motors..... i dont know the name in english for them.

Is a set of two motors, with a sator with 3 coils distributed at 120 degrees connected with the 3 coils of the second, , and a set ofrotors feeded with alternate current.

The matter is when you turn the rotor of one, the set reproduce the angular movement in the rotor of the second.

Are used for instruments, in example you put one into the dive plane and the second reproduce the position of the plane into the instrument.

The same with the giro angle, the first receive the input of the TDC about the giro angle, and te secoond repeat this movement and input it into the gimbals device.

I wait it can help you to found more technical information....

About you question, i dont have any technical info, but it is very probable they can set the gyro angle after flood the tube, i supose they use breakable cable/wire conectors to input the gyro angle, wich become broken or disconect when torpedo launchs.
