Hi all, I've only had SH3 for a week now, but already I've had some amazing moments. First was was on my 1st patrol, BdU sent a contact report of a large convoy heading straight for me. I wait and wait then demoted to the XO as my dad takes over (He played Aces of the Deep 10 yrs back, mom threw out the map, but we found the manual today) and gets behind the convoy, then we get detected...... Amazingly its only 1 V&W destroyer escorting this convoy, which has at least 14 ships, including 1 passenger ship and 3 C3 cargos.

So my dad takes down a ship, and lets me take over....with the destroyer bearing down on me. Long story short, it came down to one stern shot with the destroyer going 25 knots, and I sunk her! (Almost brought it when i forgot about the flooding on board, from being depthcharged and blasted by the destroyer.) So after a quick repair, I hunt down the rest of the convoy, taking some C2s, T2 tankers, C3s, and then my final target, the passenger liner. And as the liner breaks in two, i check out the flag, (the excitment and it being just past midnight, i forgot) Guess what? Its an American liner...and its 1940......:damn: :damn: :damn: ......

Now, escaping into the depths of the ocean, U-46 makes it back to base.
Next day, literally, I start my next patrol, and try out the English Channel....its at this point that my dad takes over...again.... and guides us into the British port of Merthyer (not so sure about the spelling) so then he leaves for lunch....and i sneak in....there is nothing that i can see...so i wait till dawn......still nothing......so I decide to escape..... Apparently my crew do not have the sense to avoid the nice big concrete wall right infront of us when i change course (or maybe its me) so we hit it nice and hard.....14% integrity when I get out.... I'm trying to make a bee line for base, but im still deep in English waters..... And due to my recklessness, the entire Royal Navy and their reserve knows I'm there...and they send...trawlers? This being daylight I'm still submerged, and the battery is near 25 %......uh-oh.....another long story short, U-46 was lost with all hands..:nope:

With that over with, I downloaded all the patches, and SH3 commander, and start my new career as Karl Waldobert (my name in german) as the commander of U-77, managed to sink 29,006 tons on my 3rd patrol. Hope it wasn't too much of a bore, happy to be here!:D
