Spider-man unmasks to a press conferance. Reveals he is some guy named Peter Parker, science professor. If I remember right, he was one of the guys getting the best pics of Spidey for the Daily Bugle... now I see how. Wonder how JJJ is taking this?

i'm still trying to figure out who Sparticus was..
In a statement, Marvel trumpeted the revelation as "arguably the most shocking event in comic book history."
Following a showdown between a group of superheroes and supervillains in which hundreds of innocent civilians are killed, the government passes the Super-Hero Registration Act, requiring all superheroes to reveal their identities and register as "living weapons of mass destruction
Wow, Marvel Comics is sure pulling out some new stops with that one. Talk about a complicated issues...
...hm... gee comic books sure have come a long way from the good and evil, black and white storylines of when I used to read them as a kid. Those are some pretty complex issues, and heck... if they do it right they may even be good for kids to read, introducing them to the grey areas of life, where there is no right or wrong just conflicting interest and different perpectives...
heck makes an old guy want to go out and buy an issue to see what's popping...:hmm:

Wow. Talk about a politically charged development.
At any rate, killing off Optimus Prime was also a "change" toward "grey areas" -- the grey area of the company going under, and all the artists finding a new job.
I stopped watching Saturday morning cartoons, long ago, simply because they had become so "politically correct". Really, really liberal. Couldn't show dozens of Bugs Bunny cartoons because they were racially provocative, Tom and Jerry were too violent, Daffy was always getting shot by Elmer.
Sounds like Marvel is headed the same direction. So long and fair seas; it was nice knowing ya.
edit -- Sparticus was one of the Spartans that fought at Thermopylae. Either that or he was a Roman slave that led a revolt toward southern Italy. One of the two. Greece, Italy, Sicily. They're all the same. Olives and marble columns everywhere you look.

Well he’s out, and he’s proud.
I'm a recovering comic collector (I have over 5000 of them collecting dust in individual mylar bags in my closet) and I've been clean for over 10 years. I even have an multi issue Xforce Executioner story line that I've never read because they came in "collectors bags with hologram cards". I'm almost intriged by this plot to read it, but not quite. Nice publicity stunt though. The last time I read Spider Man, Peter looked like Eric from That 70's Show. Now he looks like he's a member of a boy band .
A not so funny comic story. My cousin game me his comic collection when I was 8, with most of the issues being from the 50's and 60's, containing several valuable numer 1's. I was moving the box with the comics out to the garage, and I put them on the driveway, and went to shut the door. It was garbage day, and the guy picked up the box. I said NO! I want that box! He dumped the comics in the truck, tossed the box back at me, and drove off while I stood there, speechless. :damn:

Don't get me started on Tom and Jerry, the really old ones (50's I guess) were very good, then there are those from what I think must be the 70's and they're rubbish, in the old ones, when Tom and Jerry are chasing each other, once Tom has the upper hand, and once Jerry, and the chases are imaginative, like when Jerry puts the whole appartment under water and turns on the freezer, so everything is full of ice, the ones from the 70's on the other hand, Jerry is like a bully, but in the eyes of someone else, who always comes to help Jerry, an angel, always provocating Tom. And the chases are dull.
does anyone know where I can get to watch the old Tom and Jerry cartoons, or even a DVD collection of them?

There are also Looney Tune cartoons that have been stashed away from the public due to their being politically incorrect. These include depictions of blacks, indians and one Bugs Bunny episode that I vividly recall with an aborigine ("Anga bunga bonga inga binga binga b-a-a-n-n-n-ga!"). :p

Spiderman looks like he's been on the "Queer eye for a straight guy" TV show.
He should be renamed the Spidergay and the comic "Queer eye for a bad guy": instead of using his web to tie criminals in the street light poles, he should use the super-sticky substance to trim their eye-brows and style their hair.
Spidergay, preparing the bad guys to receive "special treatment" in jail.
