Got this the other day, interesting look at the Cold War sub ops from the Russian side.
"Rising Tide" by Gary E Weir and Walter J Boyne.
Very informative view of the differences in the training, skills, and thinking of the USSR skippers. Really brings to light how the USSR Navy operates; less a study of the actual boats, more an insight into the men who drive them.
Good stuff!

If you liked "Rising Tide", then you will also like "October Fury" by Peter Huchthausen. It is the story of four Soviet Foxtrot-class subs during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.
