Prepare for another 3-0 :D
give it your best shot USA--you never know your luck--reckon you got to win tho--very hard group to get landed in--
this is it really--this is your world cup--lose this and your out (allmost certainly)--so you may as well play as if it were the World Cup Final itself--

Well the USA arrived at the semifinals of a world cup in the 1930, so you never know.:p
What CB said, play it like a world cup final. There is no best- out-of- seven in football. It is best- out- of- one game.
"Geronimo"!!!
World cup history:
1950 USA:England (1:0)
1966 North Korea:Italy (1:0)
2006 USA:Italy (1:0)???
USA needs to score a goal somehow, corner, free-kick, penalty, sheer coincidence.
If Italy scores first, then things get difficult.
Once Italy is in the lead, it is very hard to beat them because they know how to defend their goal very very well as they usually show up with a world class defense.
Good luck, both teams, though my sympathies are with the underdogs from the exotic country;).
 be worth keeping your eye on the Ghana match as well (just about to start) if they can hold the Czech to a draw---then your in with a shot by drawing with Italy and beating Ghana--you HAVE to score tho--at least two or three..goal difference etc--:ping:
:D told you it was worth keeping an eye on Ghana--under two minutes in and it's
Ghana 1
Czech 0
If I was you, I wouldn't bet my bottom dollar on the US in tonight's game.
USA beats Italy? yeah, sure...

I would never bet in the US in this game. This is more of a curiosity thing. If we win, great. If not, NFL football season starts in two months, no problem :)

Well...since it's on a day off I'm gonna sit down and watch international football for the first time ever. Not too optimistic tho. During the singing of the national anthem the US players looked so grim you would have thought they were awaiting the start of an execution instead of a football match.
By the way...where are the cheerleaders? :ping:
first half--30 minute in..
:rotfl:
Italy 1
USA 1
italy give usa a home goal then go down to ten men-- welcome to the world cup-- :yep: you just never know--
;) Ouch, ten men each now.
Edit.
If not, NFL football season starts in two months, no problem :)
Over here it's called rugby and they don't need body armour ;)
Nice game, just a tad rough but the US are putting up a damn good fight. Hats off.

Halftime. Why that brutality in that game? Despite the two red cards, there were several other pretty tough ones, too. Just good that one of the best referees around is whisteling that game.Go USA! I like the fighting spirit in that underdog.

One minute played and another yellow-red against the US team. Maybe they should sedate the players a bit, fighting spirit is nice and well, but some players in both teams seem to be a little bit over-motivated.

The players are too nervous, Italy is doing a picknick and the USA are really doing a great match. :yep:

Draw. Due to the roughness in the game, maybe no team really gad deserved to win. From a more sports-related impression I would have wished the US team had won.
Nice save from Keller on Del Piero. Fun match to watch but a little too rough.
Nice game of US.
piece of cake -one point--now for Ghana--very tense stuff USA:up:

De Rossi`s assault on McBride is one of the ugliest things I have seen on a football pitch:down:
