"Holy political activism Deathman! The students are revolting again!"
"Quick Ro-bin, to the Deathmobile!"

Not very surprising at all. :nope:

One thing is for certain China will be a super power sooner or latter. :damn:

The unfortunate part is that there's really nothing that can be done from our side of the border.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if phony death sentences are handed out regardless of innocence.

A truly unfortunate new low.

Ironically we have made them so strong. we made business and deals with them although we know about these things - our shorttermed fginancial interest ranks higher. China is buying a lot of machinery and industrial equipement. We assume they will always do that, giving us the perspective of a wide, huge, open market. But German analysis has filled a 45 minute docu some months ago that they buy very clever, and raise their own industrial manufacturing capacities. What a surprise! Just common sense. They sprint for gaining the status of being independent from such critical imports. Once they have brought their production capacity to the needed level - I predict they will close their market, and try to dominate other markets. Again, old historical lessons, Western powers practiced that for centuries. but this time - we will sit on the receiving edge. The row over textile imports is just a first small and tame apperitif, telling volumes on the dinner to come. Bon appetit.

The buses apparently can't get through the snowed-in areas (http://www.protv.ro/filme/exclusive-footage-of-chinese-soldiers-shooting-at-tibetan-pilgrims.html#4265).

Let me see................., we sent scrap iron to Imperial Japan in before WWII, and they turned down a bad road.

We now send just about all our resources to China, and what are they doing any differently?

And the reward to China are the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. Happy days. :nope:

Actually that could be a good thing. It will bring in an influx of westerners that will make their citizens curious. Curiosity leads to other roads, especially the young.

Sure. Just look what the Olympics did for Germany in 1936.

Haven't you folks noticed a pattern that appeasing thugs only makes them more confident in their efforts to do what they want and actually get away with it for to long? :hmm:

Firstly I was opposed to China being awarded the Olympic Games. Now considering that the Olympics have already been awarded to China it is pretty obvious that the IOC are not going to take the games away from Beijing. Hence all I can do now is hope that a positive comes out of this. What would you propose and more importantly what can be done?

If the guy is a murderer or rapist & hes sent to Death by "The Van" I have no problem with it. Having a nasty wound in your heart or head by a bullet is more inhumane than being gased as long as they going by proper standards and he/she is dead within seconds.

Rescind the award. Any decent person would do so. They can't do it for contractual reasons? Open up a big mouth and say how disgusted they are with a variety of Chinese abuses. Of course, such protest should be done by the entire world. This is not specifically relevant to the Olympics or the IOC.

I won't go into a massive tirade, but I understand why China has these vans running around the country. I don't like it but I agree with them on this issue.
