strategic bombing

anyone have any SS of their bases being bombed by the allies, or other scripted events like the bismark or schnarnhorst? i think it would be an interesting post.

I have screenshots of the aftermath of an attack. I was just pulling into Wilhelmshaven after a patrol (post #21) when I saw flashes of light in the distance. At first I thought it might be a computer problem, but when I got closer I came upon a couple of sunken ships, and I realized that it had to be an air raid.

It just happened to me. I was leaving St. Nazaire on April 3rd 1944. It was at night so the pics aren't great. They only did one bombing pass then flew away, they also didn't hit a thing! It was cool seeing all the ships opening up with AA guns though. I didn't join in as I accidently went to perisope depth...at least that's what I'm telling the B.D.U.

Interesting, I never saw any Allied's air raid at Wilhelmshaven even in early years. Only saw them in 1943 and after at St.Nazaire, I bet Lorient and Brest get them too, but I play 7th Flotila mostly after I installed GW mod. Is this Allied air raid at Wilhelmshaven in mod or stock?

In GW, during 1940's when I sneaked into Bristol on several patrols to sink some nice stationary ships, German planes does arrived in mornings dropping bombs like the Blitz. I found it interesting that when one of them bomb on a large tanker and damaged it, I fired an eel to sink it, but my log doesnt showed that I have sunk that tanker even it didnt marked as sunk ship on either maps before my eel hit it and my periscope's notepad did registered that tanker before then tho. :doh: I think I should be doing the typing or writing datas into my own logbook instead.

I have never seen my own base get pounded. I was recently in Southend in 1940 in my trusty IIA when they got bombed. Was kinda nice to see except for the fact that I was submerged sneaking in amongst the ships and the bombs were falling all around ME! Never got hit but they were very, very close. If it were RL I would have sent off a nasty letter to the Luftwaffe... even if they had no way to know I was there lol.

yeah my bro put some new mods on for me the first mission i went on with the new mods were..
1)bismarck sailing into brest (i think it was brest)
2) aircraft bombing my port
3) new subs docked

i didnt get very far i wasnt used to so much traffic and i thought they would move out of the way for me lmao :doh: it wasnt to be and i collided with a DD:rotfl:
