View Full Version : Gramaphone Music
Can anybody point me to the "German Hits" music site? I downloaded German Hits Vol 1 previously and enjoy selected sounds from that vol. Neglected to download the other volumes and would like to get those also.
Thanks in advance.

Without setting a new thread for this I just would like to know what is the title song of the tune in GWV1.0 when you sink a ship I really think it's really nice.

By any chance did you attempt to download:
Ultimate Gramophone Pack - 150+ tunes and broadcasts.rar
I have tried twice and both times my Winrar program refuses to extract the files. I'm told that the files are either in an unknown format (unlikely as these are supposed to be RAR fies) or that the files are corrupted.
Just wondering if you had any better luck.

Tried it, doesnīt work. The first byte of the file header isnīt there, thatīs easy to fix.
Download this file:
http://home.arcor.de/gizzmoe/files/r.txt (Right-click, Save as)
Copy it into the same directory as the rar archive, then start cmd (command line), go to the directory where both files are and run this command:
copy /b r.txt+"Ultimate Gramophone Pack - 150+ tunes and broadcasts.rar" new.rar
Then unpack new.rar.

Can you tell if there is a similar file header problem with the GermanHits14_1940 fille?
Thanks!

I made a 30 minute Das Boot compilation file for the Gramaphone some time ago. Actually listened to it last night while playing DW/ :yep:
Its pretty damn good, even if i do say so myself!
If anyone is interested in it..., i'll dig it up for download..

They have to be either .ogg or mp3 format. I like the gramaphone packs since they're older songs that sound like they're being played on an old record player..
Good Luck..

Stick with the OggVorbis format....mp3 can give you CTD's in SH3.

I just downloaded the Ultimate ... pack and Gizzmoe's fix. All the 150 files are mp3. Do I have to change them all to ogg format before I can play them on my gramophone in GWX?

Yes, that's the best thing to do.
It will take quite a while, though, and will put a big strain on your CPU.
But it's worth the effort.
I have an AMD XP3200+, and it took around 20mins for 150 mp3's, to convert to OGG.

What program do you use to convert the mp3 to ogg?? I didn't see that option in my WMP10..
Thanks!!

I used the PAK Audio Converter (Freeware) from ZDNet.com to convert OGG to MP3. It worked well and handles batch processing.

It's not free, but the trial period lasts forever.
