Of course, the only army I'd really fight for if it were my choice is the Soviet one.

Oh yes, wonderful choice. Get shot if you retreat, take part in suicide rushes, be trapped in Leningrad during the 900 days, freeze your ass off, fight in Stalingrad in the bloodiest battle the world has ever seen, fight fanatical Nazis in the heart of Berlin, freeze your ass off, watch as your sniper - girlfriend (yes, the Russians put woman at the front) gets blown to pieces by multiple 88 shells, freeze your ass off... and... well, point is -- I just don't see how anyone would enjoy being in an army where 8,668,000 million soldiers were killed.

Many of my ancestors fought there, many suffered/died as civilians. WWII Eastern Front is the only war so far which I'd pick up a rifle and go fight in without asking any extra questions. :hmm:

Honestly everyone fights (and fought) for their own country. Heck I wanted to say something about the image fo the Soviets as being forced to fight...plenty were motivated same with many others. Those frogs bled day after day in the muddy, soggy trenches along with the British (and Americans at the end). They deserve to get some credit for what they went through during that war. You can't say they don't put up a good fight.
