Hello everyone!

I have problems with 16km mod that ruin my SH3. I've spent countless hours - to the point of exhaustion - searching the net and various forums to find a sollution, but have been unable to find one.

My final hope lies with you:

First, let me illustrate the problem:

SS taken from the bridge:

So far so good.

But then, as viewed through binoculars:

See the horizon? all black on a sunny day?

A few degrees to the right, through UZO:

Again, as you can see the sky is black...

This will NOT happen when viewed through periscope (attack or obs), only when viewed from bridge. Any ideas to why this happens - even better: any ideas how to correct the problem?

Some other, more minor glitches:

See the gun turrets? no textures.... :(.

I beg your help gentlemen. Even smallest bits of information would help!

Specs:

AMD 64 +3200
1 GB DDR @400
GF6600 GT / Forceware 84.21 / WinXP pro (SP1)

My SH3 mods:

patch 1.4b
SH3cmdr2.5
JSGME 1.4.0.49 (in order):
Nomo
Extend Unified Campaign (GW+NYGM)
GW ver 1.0 --- (should be patched to 1.1)
GW 24 h Fatique Model Alternate
vodkas_quiet_GW_clock
Torpedo --- (tweaks torpedo performance)
16 km Atmosphere Mod 16km version 2.0 LIGHT ---- (won't matter light or dark)
Improved U-Boat v103 16km ---- ( extracted this patch in effort to fix the problem, but no help).

Any suggestions?

Yours truly,

U-2481

Thanks Salvadoreno for your fast reply!

Indeed, I tried to browse through u-boot.realsimulation.com's "general" DL section, but couldn't spot any patch named as such. :(

However, I'll keep on looking for a such patch - thanks for the tip, m8.

I am using 84.25 on my 6600 with reasonable results. The only issue I am having is the sun glare bloom...

U-Bones,

Just checked Nvidia's site and newest I could spot was 84.21 for WinXP.
Where did you obtain the 84.25?

I sure would like to give it a try....

There ya go dude. Im not sure if that will work but doesnt hurt to try..

Now i have a question.. I have NYGM TW and the default is 16km, yet my crew still spots ships at 6000-7000km. I THINK I can see 16km, but my watch crew cant.

Thanks m8! The final, uploaded file that was suggested in the thread u referred to was no longer available for DL from Fileshack... due to the lack of recent DL's :damn: .

No worries - same thread suggested a sollution to my problem and will employ that next. I will notify you all if it works :ping:. Salvadoreno, U have been most helpful!

As a counter, I think I have a sollution for you:

"Now i have a question.. I have NYGM TW and the default is 16km, yet my crew still spots ships at 6000-7000km. I THINK I can see 16km, but my watch crew cant."

DL minitweaker made by TimeTraveller and install it. With it u can modify easily your sensors.dat - file, which will enable your crew to spot enemy at the ranges you assign :sunny: . If you need aditional help with it, I'm more than happy to to offer it.

Once again, thanks.

Well, gentlemen; Salvadoreno and U-Bones:

I think I've might found a sollution to my problems. It took countless hours of frustration and browsing through net, yet you guys offered me the sollution. Or so I think (I have to do additional testing, but it looks promising :sunny: ).

All I had to do was to uninstall all mods via JSGME, do a "Rollback" on SH3cmdr and re-install mods in a bit different order - and bingo!

One bogie down - many more to go in order to reach perfection... .

While this sucker-problem seems to be toppled, there are still a long road to get it right - hence you may hear from me again. :nope:

But for now - I thank you, Salvadoreno, for leading me to the right direction and you can count on me to give you any assistance I can only provide. :smug:

Excuse me gentlemen, but for now I think I've got some sinking to do...

hah yes the rollback is a great lil tool that helps with mods. Before i add anything new to a major mod via JSgme i always do a rollback. Shoulda suggested that first. lol. Well glad it worked for ya, welcome to the forums, and look foward to help from this community all the time.

Ahh yes the minitweaker tool. Im just going to wait for NYGM 2.0 rather then fixing everything. But thanks for your help

SS taken from the bridge? I swear on my sainted mother's vennison stew, that's not me in the picture and I wasn't anywhere near the scene of the crime!

I was going to suggest downloading the original 16k Atmosphere mod and using those filed, including the Scene.dat, but since you say you've found a solution I'll just duck inside this alley in case the Shore Police are coming.

Wasn't me, I tell you!
