Halifax FFH Sonar (SQS-505)

Its hull mounted, does it look like the hull mounted sonar on the Perry? Anyone got a pic?

Need to know for the 3D model I'm building for DW.

My model is very close to being done. The only major part to do is the mast (and radars) although I'm taking the cheap way and making it a transparent box with the beams painted on.

Wasn't it in SCX? Or was that an default boat with a green helo deck? Or was that an Iroquois?

If you think your model is lousy and would hurt more than help you can hang on to it until you see my model completed and can compaire.

Saw that too, thats the CANTASS towed array pod not the SQS-505. Its Hull mounted, HMCS Annapolis had the same set and it has no TA listed in Janes.

I think I found what I needed.

The SQS-505 can be hull-mounted in a fixed dome configuration. Canadian warships have the hull-mounted transducer in a retracting dome. The Belgian navy uses a fixed-dome and retractable transducer. The Dutch and Greek navies choose a bow dome.

The shape I had was quite wrong. :oops:

And she has blue anti-fouling... noted for when it comes time to texture...

Ah yes. I just discovered the cool images the offical MARCOM site has (including one of the sonar dome.) Off to check the indivitual ship sites.
