View Full Version : Help! Game Paused!?
Im having the strangest problem...I prepared to leave on my 14th patrol today. the game loaded up as usual, then I got the usual "Initializing" screen...Then instead of seeing the normal starting viewpoint in the control room, I get a balck screen with "Game Paused". nothing I do, (hitting backspace, clicking the "P", or the "+") un-pauses the game.
Anyone have a fix!? This is insanity! :down:

Have you tried the "pause/break" key? Far right key on the F-row?

Yes, tried that too. To no avail. :cry:
Go into My Documents/SH3/data/Cfg and open main with notepad and find this section.
[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=32
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=1
AirEnemyDetected=1
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=4
RadioReport=8
Particles=8
PrayState=8
HunterState=32
3DRender=32
Maximum=2048
Make sure Real Time=1 and not Real Time=0
i found this file you mention above,....It doenst appear to have a "Time compression" section at all!:hmm:
Ok, look in SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg find Main in there and open it with notepad and check. It should be the second entry section there also. It might be that it didn't show in My Documents if you do not have a active career going at the time.
Ok, found that....but it appears normal....

Good! Copy/Paste the Timecompression part to mydocuments/sh3/data/main.cfg,
Hum...Here is a copy of my Main cfg file from C:\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg, yours should look something similar to it.

See my last post for location. Gizzmoe beat me to it.:up:
Do what Gizzmoe said and just paste it in there somewhere or, put everything in the same order as the Main cfg in your SilentHunterIII\data\cfg file, that might be the better idea.
That did it! fixed! Much appreciated guys....
No my onlt wonder is how it happened in the first place....:hmm:
Might have been a bad game save from the last time it worked correctly. It has happened to others I've read before, that is how I knew where to look for the trouble. Glad you got it going again.:up:

Had one kind of similiar... cruising along in TC1024, got enemy contact, jumped down to TC15? (was orange) Game was locked at that point, so I had to go through the .cfg settings, make sure I didn't screw one up with 15 instead of 16. Didn't find one; restarted patrol, never happened again.
