My U-91 just finished a successful visit into Reykjavik harbour (Iceland) where we sunk a light cruiser, a liberty cargo and a large merchant. However, due to an irritating amount of duds this cost quite a few torps and I'm down to 3 out of the original 14. If I go to a milk cow, will I get additional torpedoes or do I need to find a friendly port to get reloads?
Additionally, if I do dock in a friendly port will that end the patrol or can I continue adding on tonnage for this patrol?
Cheerio :)

I think it's technically cheating (not realistic), but Milkcows give you torps, ammo, repairs, just like any other port. In the log, each patrol stands on its own (i.e. its own entry). Once you dock, the entry gets added. But in your mind, anything's possible.

How is it unrealistic? There were milkcows operating in the Atlantic. Just cos it makes things easier doesn't necessarily make it unrealistic.
But then again, you probably know more than I do because you have 440 posts and yer sig is really really cool :D

Its unrealistic in that you get your boat completely repaired. This much i know for sure.
Another reason they might be unrealistc, and this is only a hunch based on what ive read, im not saying for sure.. is that milkcows generally only provided enough fuel for you to get home. I don't think you could pull up to a milk cow with near empty fuel tanks and expect to leave it your tanks topped off to their utmost capacity.
I forgot about the repairs part :-?

Well they did some repairs. The other unrealistic part is that in SH3 the milk cow gives you a full load of torpedos. In RL they gave you 2-3.
I'd say everyone playing this game has uttered the words in your title more than a few times while on patrol. I think it may be unrealistic too since I don't milkcows provided food. I think all you got was fuel, eels and minor repairs. Not sure since I play vanilla.
