There are very few waters clear enough to actually enjoy that... maybe in the most exclusively crystal waters in the world perhaps.

I guess so :P , I think that it will be hard to even get 1/1000000 of the money needed for a sub during the upcoming anniversary. :-j

Get a couple of live torpedoes and a bunch of mines and carve out a path of destruction as privateers!

I really wonder, have any of these things been built, and sold? And to whom? You know, playing around with a negative buoyancy vessel can get you killed in a hurry. I wonder if there are any of these things being used, and who pilots them? :hmm:

This is the one for me. Looks like it's about the size of a Type IX, capable of trans-Atlantic crossings, and will dive to 305m (that's about 1000 feet)! :hmm: Now that's what to get on Father's Day for the dad who has everything! ("Gee, son, a luxury u-boat... you really shouldn't have....")

[Edit: It's like something out of James Bond.... "A small automobile could be kept in the aft section if desired...." :|\ ]

Hehe - all the customers are wealthy and insist on confidentiality. LOL no kidding. Clearly the pricetag limits customers to the likes of:

Still, I'll bet even *I* could pick up chics with one.

LOL i suppose some were delivered to Iran.. you know..."for leasure purposes only".

and, ahem:

β€œIt was really sort of romantic,” he recalled in an interview with New Scientist magazine. β€œI thought: You know what? People ought to have the chance to own a sub that would do this sort of thing, where you could go down and spend the night on the bottom.”

Why you little SOB, you prolly mean "EXTREMELLY RICH people"!!

Oh, yes. A submarine would be great. I could slink around the local lake and torpedo yachts and fisherman. Yes, sir. The fun just never ends.

Yeah no kidding. If you don't know what your doing, your gonna be in your own modern recreation of an iron coffin, only with a stylish interior.

Yeah, just don't let Bernard get his hands on it.

Just give me a type XXI with some homing torpedoes and an aftermarket deck gun and I'll pwn one of these.
