Guys,
Can anyone tell me of the best source of quality US Submarine blueprints? Looking for extensive detail and not a simple schematic (??) line drawing of the hull.
Cheers.

I don't know if it has a complete blueprint (I sort of doubt it), but have you tried searching The Fleet Type Submarine? http://www.maritime.org/fleetsub/

Yeah, I see what you mean. On the "pro" side, I see they list both outboard and inboard deck plans - that sounds like it should be fairly complete as far as mapping things out. Depending, of course, on how much precise information you're after - my guess is a deck plan probably wouldn't show much of engineering or technical info. On the "con" side, it looks like this list is only for six hull numbers (198-203) of the pre-war Tambor class; looks like these may show some of the modifications that were made to that class during the war, but I doubt if they'll shed any light on later ones. Still... pretty interesting stuff. How much do they want? How much are you willing to pay?

Did you buy it from maritime.org or find it elsewhere? I'm debating about buying it but it would be nice if I could get it a little cheaper than maritime's price ($30 for the .pdf) because I'd like to have a printed and bound copy.

Where did you find it? I'd prefer to buy a printed version.

It has an ISBN number. So you can order it in any decent book store on the globe. I ordered it about 10 yrs (guessing) ago at a local book store.
In case you want to buy it online the best place is the SubSim bookstore !!

Most or all of those drawings are also in The Fleet Type Submarine manual.

My fault; please disregard. I misread Drebbel's post and thought he was talking about the FTS manual.

The book U.S. Submarines Through 1945: An Illustrated Design History by Norman Friedman has no blue prints in it, atleast I can not find any.
