:-? usually I am very cautious about making positve ID before firing.
This time I was not. :hulk:
What saved me from sinking the friendly neutral was that I noticed that the crew did not cheer the hit as they usually do. ...and this caught my attention in time to discover my error....and so halt the attack.
I am just glad that I did not launch the attack with a normal salvo of 2-3 torpedos. :yep:
As it was, I left the ship slowed to 2 knots and lisiting badly but managed to clear the area before I got "credit" ( :shifty: ) for the mistake.

You're a very naughty man and your attack was a Bad Thing. What is your response, sir, to the idea that you may have sent innocent men, women and children to their deaths?
*waits*
There you have it; he just doesn't care. :nope:

Well, it doesnt makes you feel happy when you realise that the ship you blowed up could be an schoolar trip with 12 yr old kids on board.... :dead:

I wouldn’t worry, all you’ll lose is some renown… and your soul!

I have never torpedoed a ship that happened to be neutral and NOT sink it.
But of course i have set up perfectly for a deck gun bashing, only to find my crew refuse to fire... and it takes a while to dawn on my why...

I blast them to high heaven all the time (if there under armed escort) :D
Oh you naughty boy, someone should spank your ass! :rotfl:
Yea, if its near England or any other Enemy area and not German - Its game. :P
On the subject of neutral 'neutrals'
I took on a convoy two weeks ago, it was a bad weather but I got in close enough to distinguish the neutrals (2 C3 and 1 C2). I couldn't see escorts so I decided to attack the convoy on the surface. I raced toward the ships firing at 3 enemy merchants with the first salvos (2 C2, 1 T2 Tanker) - by the time I had done that one of the 'neutrals' (C3 cargo) was firing at me with their deck-gun!! Gave me quite a stir so upon reload I sank her.

Could it be that you hit a neutral ship some time before that? Afaik they see you as 'enemy' for 24 hours when you attack a neutral :) (don't have much experience in the matter, luckily)
